More union support is stacking up behind Elizabeth Esty, with the Connecticut Laborers’ District Council and Laborers’ Local 611 announcing their endorsement.

Already the AFL-CIO and and the CWA hacve put their support behind Esty, after supporting Chris Donovan during the primary.

“The Connecticut Laborers’ District Council and Laborers’ Local 611 are proud to endorse the next U.S. Congresswoman from Connecticut, Elizabeth Esty. As well, it’s time for all Connecticut Democrats to unite and stand behind a very dynamic community and business leader. Elizabeth Esty will do a great job in representing the working families of Connecticut’s Fifth Congressional District,” Charles LeConche, the Connecticut Laborers’ District Council business manager, said in a release. “I encourage all registered voters to turn out on Nov. 6 to vote for Elizabeth Esty. As a former town council member and state representative who has been a champion for Connecticut taxpayers, Elizabeth will do a great job in Washington, D.C. to protect workers’ rights and enforce Davis-Bacon regulations.”

According to the organization, the Connecticut Laborers’ District Council represents approximately 7,500 members employed in the construction industry, public sector and other building and trade fields throughout the state.
