According to The Hill, Elizabeth Esty is one of four Democratic candidates named to be part of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s “Red to Blue” program.”
That means the committee sees the race as winnable, The Hill reports, and will be investing money and other resources into the race.
Esty was named along with Kyrsten Sinema, running for Arizona’s 9th District, Joe Garcia, running for Florida’s 26th District, and Rick Nolan, in Minnesota’s 8th District.
As The Hill reports: “The newest wave of candidates to earn a spot in the highly competitive Red to Blue program are expanding the map and looking increasingly strong as more races come into play and Republicans face rejection from voters,” said DCCC chairman Rep. Steve Israel (D-N.Y.) in a statement.
