An analyst for politics watchers Rothenberg Report has moved the 5th District race to “pure tossup.”

In a tweet on primary night, Nathan Gonzales wrote that the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee “will have a tough time finding CT Democrats to say something bad about Roraback. Should be a great race.”

The National Republican Congressional Committee’s Nathaniel Sillin issued a press release touting the rating change, saying “Andrew Roraback winning is the worst case scenario for Democrats. The fact that a Democrat super PAC spent more than $200k in the Republican primary attacking Roraback, and the DCCC is attacking him before the ink dries on his primary victory, proves their utter desperation.”

Republican Roraback will face Democrat Elizabeth Esty in a November election.
