According to a report by the Hartford Courant, Robert Braddock Jr., Chris Donovan’s former campaign finance director, has gone broke since being arrested and charged with breaking campaign finance law.
“Since being fired from his position as finance director of the ‘Donovan for Congress’ campaign, Mr. Braddock has been unemployed and has been unable to find work primarily due to the widespread pretrial publicity this matter has received,” Braddock’s lawyer, Frank J. Riccio II of Bridgeport, wrote in a legal filing, as was reported by the Courant.
Braddock was fired by Donovan and charged by federal investigators for allegedly executing a scheme to collect money from some Connecticut smoke shops in exchange for legisaltive action from Donovan who was speaker of the State House.
Donovan has not been charged.
