Andrew Roraback has named a new campaign manager, Branford’s Steven Basserman, who most recently was working with Chris Shays.
Roraback appears to be taking campaign staff from failed Republican primary efforts — Basserman follows Chris Cooper, who took over as Roraback’s spokesman after working with Mark Greenberg’s 5th District campaign.
Basseman, a Yale graduate, takes over for state Sen. Rob Kane, who will remain associated with the Roraback campaign, according to a release.
“Rob Kane did a tremendous job during our successful primary campaign, and he is a close friend and a trusted advisor,” Roraback said. “Because we knew that Rob would have to focus on his own State Senate re-election campaign, our plan from the very beginning always had him moving out of the day-to-day campaign manager responsibilities after the primary. I am fortunate that my campaign will continue to benefit from his critical guidance and advice.”
About Basserman, Roraback said he was “very pleased to now also have on board an individual of Steve Basserman’s caliber. Steve will be able to take up right where Rob is leaving off, a seamless transition that will continue our momentum toward victory in November.”
