Justin Bernier has announced the appointment of a new campaign manager, along with other campaign staff members including a general consultant, though some staff, including the campaign finance director, will remain the same.

According to a release issued Wednesday, Jonathan Hanen of the Churchill Group will serve as Bernier’s new campaign manager and will “oversee day-to-day operations.”

The release says that Hanen has “extensive experience in voter targeting and grassroots organization,” starting in Massachusetts and continuing in other congressional races throughout the country. According to the release, Hanen “is a native of Connecticut’s 5th district.”

Hanen replaces Scott Will, who left the campaign earlier this month but will remain on board as a senior advisor.

Jonathan Scott, of Massachusetts-based Liftline Group, has been named general consultant with a focus on communications and strategy. “Scott has a long history in Republican politics that began in New England with the campaigns of Rhode Island’s late Senator John Chafee,” the release said.

Special assistant Will Reimer and finance director Joseph Ahearn remain with the Bernier campaign.

“I’m very excited about the changes in our organization,” Bernier said in a release. “Our campaign has been able to add some great people ahead of the primary election. Connecticut Republicans have a clear choice on August 14th and our focus is on showing them just how clear that choice is.”
